Still missing Le Mans?

In need of an excuse to head back to Le Mans? This could be just what you need.

If, like me, you are still missing the fun of Le Mans, why not re-live the experience? Only this time have a little spin on the track yourself.

OK, so it's not the full circuit, so a flat out run down the Mulsanne isn't included (at least not as part of the trackday) but trackdays.co.uk are offering the chance of an open pit lane session at the Bugatti Circuit- all 2.65 miles of it.

As a famous TV advert might say-

Here's the deal: Monday 13th August sees an open pit lane session with a 110db noise limit and free tuition for £259 per car and main driver and, according to their website, an additional driver is only an extra £1!

Here's the idea: Get your mates together and head over the Channel on Saturday for two nights of drinking and fun, then head to the track on Monday for the track session and pretend the stands are full and you are leading the 24 Hour.

For more information see www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/le-man.htm, if anyone heads over then let us know as we'd be interested in your story.

Or go with Autotrack, Sooner and £10 less. laugh Although additional drivers are more.

Went to Spa with them and a very well organised affair.

You`ll soon be too old for it if your birthdays keep comin that often, you must be lookin after passenger side speed limiter too well if you sent her to land of gambling and fun.

Hi Rich, I take it you got home with no more incidents!! Quite an eventful trip eh. We've been thinking about taking the elise to the ring but maybe LM would be better, sort of like playin footie at wembley. Long way to tow a trailer tho(more fun in the tuscan).

Hi.

I'm hoping to buy TV05CAN shortly. I'd love to know the history of the car as she looks spectacular.

We did a two day trip the here with Circuit Days a couple of summers ago.

Simply fantastic, in every way. The circuit is a dream to drive and heading between the grandstands down the pit straight into the Dunlop curve and chicane is one of the best moments of my life!

It's a very well run venue, runs live rescue and has loads and loads of run off, as you might expect. Give it a go, you will not regret the effort taken to get there. Now checking our diaries to see about going back!

You may not have noticed this is a thread bump from 2007!

I just can't resist waxing lyrical about track days there.

So are there any LM car track days this year?

Only one I can find is with Focused Events but, although it's not explicit, seems to be bikes only.

We spoke to Circuit Days but they aren't going back after losing a bundle on the last one they ran there.

We wonder if one of the Johnny Foreigner tdo's run days there that we can go along to, perhaps at some other northern France circuits.

We are hampered somewhat by struggling to understand anything other than Thames Estuary English!

Quite fancy Abbeville, which is on the way to LeMans and possibly Croix en Ternoirs (?).

RHM are doing a trip to Dijon but when we looked at it last year it was being done with Goodwood RRC and frankly the 2 day trip for us (3 of us share the car)would have cost the same as we spend on a whole seasons track days!!

The Radical isn't geared for Spa really (and it always rains) but it's something special getting on circuit over the other side.
