Ive just done 7000 miles on a set of Michelin Sport N2 tyres and there is a lot of tread still left - ive not been on any trackdays only around the Nurburgring 3 times - Is this normal ?

I thought tyres only lasted 4000 miles

No, you have clearly been driving like a pansy...

Only kidding, I got about the same out of a set of rears and that included 2 Vmax days. That said, they were down to the canvas by this point laugh

Owned a GT3 and other 911s but not a GT2. However have driven a few GT2s - of varying outputs - and whereas with the GT3 and 'lesser models' I always felt happy to jump on the power at the apex or even earlier and smear the rear tyres across the road I've always felt the power needed 'feeding in' in GT2's - which I guess is more friendly to tyres?

I had a road set up by PARR so I think this has helped
the 996 Turbo I had ate the tyres quicker than the GT2

Proof that the TT gave you the confidence to lean on the throttle earlier and harder perhaps ?

To be fair the GT2 i drove had such a lack of grip it could have done 20k without wearing out the back tyres..

Wear vastly depends on set up. Mine used to wear to the canvas on the inside edge of the tyre in 3-5k, but the outside edge would still have 3-4mm left......that's what I told the bird anyway.
