Being Robbed....Or about right??
Discussion
Typical dealers trying it on.
I had to dispose of an Aprilia Falco as a PX a few years ago and I basically had to accept the trade in value as they aren't exactly a popular bike.
BTW I only payed 3k in Feb for my CBR600F 53 plater with 5kmiles which was a bargin, but then that was mates rates sold as seen.
I somehow think your R6 would be worth a lot more privately. Assuming as you are keeping it maybe you can be one of the few owners to see 30k miles plus out of an R6? My old R6 was sold on at 23k miles but then it took 7.5years to reach it, 8k of which was done by me commuting on it for 1.5years

2006 R6s start at 5k and go on to 6k for a low mileage minter in the bike trader. I don't know what the dealer spread between a trade-in price and retail price is - but say that's a grand. How much is the high mileage going to cost you on top of that a few hundred quid? If you say 500 off for the miles, you're looking at a 3.5k trade in minimum, maybe 4k. I'd ask the stealer to explain themselves in plain english as to why they're offering you that little. Sure they're a business, but they're taking the mick on a grand scale.

And if I were the dealer I'd say 'You don't have to accept it, you want a good price then sell privately'.Steve.
Fwiw Chilli I part-exed my 2000 748 last year with 12k miles in terrible condition and got 3.5k for it (which was a great deal). You'd definitely get 1k more on ebay I reckon if you want to sell privately.
