Mmmmm, not the Alex that I worked with. He is a very down to earth guy and dare I say normal. I am very surprised with your rant.
Yes, I've met him before - perfectly nice guy. Mind you, he didn't want to comment on Coughlan when I met him yesterday! Some friends in the media tell me that Ralf Schumacher is a nice guy too....

So on the one hand there's a fellow on this thread who used to work with AW and says he's a good bloke, but on the other you met him a couple of times and reckon he's an up-his-own-arse w*anker.
Hmm...
yeah thats right when you meet someone you form an oppinion of them based on their demenor and atitude towards you. when someone is rude and swagering around only a few races into his carrer
(in Bergers car.... he was shite when he had to do it all on his own remember perhaps the reason he wasn'rt racing for soooomany years)
compared to the likes of World champion Hill and multi world champion at the time Schumacher, its easy to form that oppinion.
he is crap
I had this debate time after time on ... another forum and was constantly told how marvelous he was going to be if he got a racing seat..
well he did and he isn't
what do you get out of judging my comment, yet adding nothing on the subject yourself?
sad!

As your name states, your just a spectator!
And we all know what the average UK sports spectator is like, and his usually level of intelligence
I guess someone who works with a driver gets a better impression of his personality. I guess also Wurtz
is a bit under it at the moment. He's driving for Williams and therefore deserves all the
support that goes with that position. Whether he's the best driver for the job, is up to Frank Williams.
Going from Schumachers rent boy, to a test driver (with a huge amount of respect for his abilitys in that role),
and back to a race driver can't be easy.
But in syaing that .......once you become a test driver, you've lost it as a race driver. I was very surprised to
see him as a race driver again. Look at the evidence, Kovalainen, Wurtz, Badoer, Davidson, DeLaRosa,
Genie etc etc etc.

If he is crap, then surely he would'nt be in F1 as one of the top 22 drivers in the world! williams would of given the seat to a younger up and coming driver! (in Bergers car.... he was shite when he had to do it all on his own remember perhaps the reason he wasn'rt racing for soooomany years)

never judge a book by its cover or its name.
I have raced cars Karts and cars for about 15 years you silly boy and have won at all levels ( club level granted, but beat what was put in front of me all the same) also used to own a karting circuit, and enjoyed the company of most of the uk based f1 teams at some stage or another (ah the good old days of f1 hospitality)
this is how I came to meet every driver in f1 in the 90's wurz was the only one who ever came over as rude,
dont suppose he would have got too far with the team if he was rude to them too so I guess thats why he had his manners in check when around them, but believe me he thought he was gods gift
ref him being crap.. of course this is comparitivly speaking,so yes he is probably quite good but no way is he F1 material.rosberg is far less experienced and is performing way better.
and before you say it, yes he would most likely wipe the floor with me etc etc ( I beat Richard Dean once!!??)
finaly ref frank williams driver choices......
are you having a laugh???????????

He is a Le Mans winner and an F1 driver, you get to be fairly self-centred. I am a great fan of Alex Wurz, from my research on him, he seems like a top bloke!(in Bergers car.... he was shite when he had to do it all on his own remember perhaps the reason he wasn'rt racing for soooomany years)

as for drawing conclusions on me!!??
wtf are you on aboutyou dont know me and I am not up for debate, this is a thred about wurtz, all my comments have been directly about him from 1st hand experience.
you like some others just want to talk about what you think of me or what I have said whilst adding nothing about wurtz....
might do a bit of concluding myself...

I have to laugh at this. I worked with him in the test team for 4 months solid on winter testing and I can honestly say he is one of the guys and never ever came across rude or gods gift. You ask anyone at McLaren what a good guy he is and they will all say the same thing. I known people who have met him (not through me) and all said what a great guy. Give the guy credit he used to even slum it on Easyjet and Ryan Air with us biglaugh:
Not F1 material? Stop talking rubbish, he is in F1 and well you are on here (and me
) . Fact remains he is one of the 22 best drivers in the world racing at the pinacle of Motorsport.
DC is a top bloke too, have some amusing banter with him during that time I was testing.
