Hi,

In about 2-3 months I will be buying a new (secondhand but new to me) car - a used Cayenne is up there on this list....

Anyone got any stories/experiences/problems etc to share about the Cayennes?

Will probably go for a Turbo should finances allow.......

Cheers
Paul

My wife has got a Cayenne S since September last year. Nothing to report except a superb car that puts a smile on your face. I guess the down side is heavy on tyres, fuel and depreciation - if you can stand that they are definatley worth buying! We had 20" wheels put on ours which was a bad move as 19" would have been better from a quality ride - 20" although look good do give a choppy ride

I have a 2004 turbo. Love it... Buy with Porsche warranty or regret it..

So far, I have had the PCM unit replaced due to a disc drive rattle, as well as coil pack replaced.. This is within 2 months of ownership.

Not too concerned, as will know get 2 years warranty on the PCM..

Go for it. When you test drive, turn the PCM off.. for a better drive...

Why do you need to turn PCM off to have a better drive?

Had an S for a couple of months now - fabulous car, growing to love it (apart from the visits to the petrol station). Average so far over about 2K miles is 19.5 mpg smile

I think he means PSM (Porsche Stability Management) which is the traction control system. Turning it off allows the car to start off in 1st gear and gives more aggressive upshifts in the gearbox. The 2008 model cars have a sport button which does more or less the same thing without disengaging the traction control.
