After every blat out in the Cerb, I come back home with my clothes smelling of nasty exhaust fumes. And yes, I can smell the fumes when driving along. Obviously with the windows open. (whats the point of driving a Cerb with them shut?)
Had this problem in the Griff before, although all it meant was replacing the boot seal, and job done.

But with the Cerb being a coupe, I thought this may not be the case. So, cracked manifold then?

Has anyone else had this problem and fixed it? If so I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks
Cad

A badly split Gear Lever Gaitor will add to the aromatherapy, having driven without one for a week I can testify to that

I notice a great deal more fumes with the cats off, perhaps unsurprisingly

I'd second this, mine didnt smell at all until I put the linked de-cats on. You can definitely smell something now when you pull up to the lights etc. I kind of like it tho - all part of the race car experience!

But is it that horrible acrid exhaust smell? Some cars, like turbo charged cars have a nice exhaust smell. But the Cerb is the same as the Griff 4.3 smell. Bitter and nasty. Its not a good aroma. hurl

Are you suggesting that more fumes come out on a decatted car and make their way in somehow, or that decat pipes are normally a bad fit and leak fumes at the joins?

I got more fumes than usual in the cabin and this is what it turned out to be, hence I mentioned it.

Since I've taken the cats off, anything I put in the boot generally stinks when I get it out, particularly clothes. In the bottom of my boot I appear to have a couple of drain holes and my view is that when stationary in traffic the fumes just waft around and get in through there, also the boot seal is not the best.

Also as someone mentioned above fumes come through the gearstick gaitor into the cabin.

Overall though, I reckon the fumes come out of the end of the pipes (rather than a leak) and get inside the car when stationary - so just keep your foot down wink

Are you talking about petrol fumes?
