He there

Over the last 2 days of driving the car each time I start up and turn off I get the "Service Oil" warning and a nice little oil can popping up on the digital readout.

Now, the car was only serviced approx. 1000 miles ago. So is it something more sinister? Oil akways checked regularly.

Or shall I just call the dealers?

Cheers

Hmm it might just be the service indicator needs resetting (it's in the FAQ). I don't think it monitors oil quality.

May be that the service indicator wasn't reset, or was serviced before it triggered. There is a process in the FAQ to reset the service indicator.

Don't think its anything more sinister than that.

Hopefully not the same as a Chinook Helicopter.....

They have an in-line metal detector in the oil system.... When the alarm goes off it signifies a possible imminent break up of the gearbox... Not what you want to hear when flying at 3000ft above a large minefield in Bosnia....

The Loadmaster said (after we made an emergency landing) "I wouldn't get out if I was you - but if the flames start licking around your ankles, you might want to think about it...."

Don't you just love the RAF
