So... I take it over the distance there is no need to worry about hitting the right gear at the right rev limit to max the speed because the distance will take care of any late or early gear changes?
Cannot believe I'm thinking this one out but I don't want to make an arse of myself.
When I did a 1 mile run I hit max speed well before I reached the mile markerCannot believe I'm thinking this one out but I don't want to make an arse of myself.

I can send you some info from a run of CarTest2000 simulation software, as I've a few Cerb models in there. It shows optimum shift points. From memory it usually involves hitting the redline only in first and second. The only thing I'd need is what bhp/revs, torque/revs would you like your car entered at? Cerbs in the database are generally specials such as BrummieWedge's 6.3 !!

The car's, but that was before the air induction mod and a remap

That doesn't sound right, at a mile I reckon about 170ish but it should still be pulling beyond that to about 185-190ish. Doubt you'd make that in a mile even with the induction mods and a re-map.ceejay said:

Doubt you'd make that in a mile even with the induction mods and a re-map.There have been a few cars fitted with different final ratios which have seen more, like the infamous yellow tvr PR 4.5 though.
In 1 mile from standing start, you're looking at around 165-170ish depending on tune of car. Jesus, my jag does 160 in a mile! oh and then my rev limiter kicks in, ba$%!*d!

Mick you don't have to set off too fast ( looks go for the crowds though) it's a long way down that runway. I hit 206 there on a Busa
I presume the Busa had been a little warmed over?

man thats gotta be an awesome feeling to hit 206 in 1 mile!!! and on a bike? brave man!

Mick, judging by some of the replies on the Fighting Torque threads, you'll probably be hitting 170ish.
... but the bonnet will be lifting nicely by then...
Mine doesnt
Trolling again Mr Pod ie?

Not really, just browsing the forums.
I've seen more than enough TVRs in my time to know that they vary... and seen bonnets lift / flap / decide to remove themselves at various speeds...
