Cayman S option/standard equipment question
Discussion
Cayman S. Are the partial leather standard seats an option or standard equipment?
Hardback book dated 05/2006 says: option on Cayman and Cayman S
Softback price list book dated 08/2006 says: option on Cayman, standard on S
2007 model year price card dated 10/2006 says: option on Cayman, standard on S
My order invoice says its an option... and I'll be charged.
Any idea which one is right before I call the dealer and argue the toss.

Partial leather is standard as said above.
The full leather option is required for certain interior options anyway - I've ordered a Cocoa interior that has to be full leather.
What colour are you looking at?
Seems like they have added £792 to the S price even though it's supposed to be standard. The full leather option is required for certain interior options anyway - I've ordered a Cocoa interior that has to be full leather.

re: colour- white, black leather and wheels.
It's a UK spec issue!!
Basically the "standard" UK spec on a Cayman S gets you top tint screen, partial leather (actually full leather seats) and something else. However this "standard" spec is created by Porsche GB, Not Porsche Germany.
Even though they are listed as "standard", on the invoice you see there in front of you there is a price for a true "base" car, plus the leather and the top tint. If you add it all together it should come to the exact right amount. Just deciving when giving it a scan without doing the maths.

Ah now I see it! Some documents quote the base price then add the seats and top tint, some quote a higher price with the seats and top tint included.Basically the "standard" UK spec on a Cayman S gets you top tint screen, partial leather (actually full leather seats) and something else. You can't have it with the alcantara then? I'd prefer it: warmer in the winter, not so sweaty in the summer and more grip on your arse for cornering!
Anybody had alcantara? Is it THAT ugly/shite?

Partial leather is standard - not sure about the rest.
What is a "price card"?
Its a price list made of card that folds out twice to A4 size. What is a "price card"?

I'm

The price card is free... I'm talking about partial leather seats and if they are free or a cost option... and that question has now been answered.

That said, Porsche would probably charge for the price card if they could get away with it.
"how much is that car?"
"the information is in the price list card sir"
"well, can I have one"
"that'll be £50 please"

When I bought mine (March 2006), partial leather was standard (I have an S). I further upgraded the seats with two options: one to full leather and one to sports seats. I wonder if your dealer is mixing 'partial leather' and 'full leather' ?
Here you go - a snap from my order.
Don't know what to make of it or if they've changed it now, but you'll see 1 entry for "black leather seats" which upgraded them to full leather, and 1 entry for "sports seats".

By the way, I remember that when making that order up, he had to remove another line for the seat. I recall my eyes going wide when I saw the price of the "full leather" going in, before he explained he would then remove another line for seats. (As Jack said above).

Actually I wasn't winding you up - the penny just dropped a few minutes ago, but I couldn't delete my post as somebody else had posted, so instead I hastily edited out what you've just quoted. Sadly not quickly enough it would seem.

I.....will.....

However there is a part of me that feels l********te is a bit rich in a £40k car, but I spent the money on PASM/Sport Chrono/18" wheels instead and don't regret it.
