when the 5 series was lauched i saw plenty of 545i -but not too many now, but where are the 550i -i have yet to see one
i knew it would be rare but nil sightings?

If it broke down I'm sure you could get a taxi nearby, one that really deserves the M badge wink

One could argue that a 550i is as much of an M car as you'd ever need. It's truer to the original M philosophy. Nice Understated Car, BIG FO Engine.

0-60 in 5.2 vs the M5's 4.7.

True, rereading my post it does sound a bit snotty, what I meant was if a beemer is not an M then it shouldn't have the badge on it, it just looks naff - ruining what is a great car in it's own right.

If buying one new, an M5 is only a little bit more expensive.
A completely different but most people would get the M.
