It's a cheap way into a 996tt - about the cheapest you'll get - and low mileage too? I'd have the biggest problem with the lhd but I know a lot of people wouldn't see that as a problem.
As an investment? You're buying cheap and would sell cheap a few years down the line as worst case - best case, can it depreciate much further? Or sell it in Germany, I hear that a lot of good quality older lhd cars are going back to Germany cos they tend to be better than those at home.
I wouldn't care too much about colour, it's the drive I'm interested in.

age and miles?
everything is so wrong (the green is the least of them IMO) but if you don't mind and the car is at least £5k less than an equivalent age/miles black/black manual then its still a reasonable buy if you can handle it

Buy it, if you never intend to sell it on.
bit harsh?- savannah

buy cheap, sell cheap all relative.........
get you're point though smaller audience
You most likely WILL have difficulty shifting it yourself or getting it taken as P/X for anything remotely like a decent figure when you've had your fun with it.
But, you pays yer money.

don't mean to sound crazy but I don't think that is cheap enough. My logic is that LHD is £5k cheaper even at these depreciated levels, knock off a min £2k for green/savannah and another £1k for the ghastly chictronic2001 model
Sat Nav all electrics etc
gets you to £43k for a proper colour manual RHD
then you see this at a few less miles
http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/180819.htm
which will go for £40k - I know I'd be searching down the back of the sofa for the extra £5k or offering £32k for your worst-of-all-worlds example
just my 2p, good luck!

I think I can stick my oar in here seeing as I've just parted company with a Rfg/ savannah 996 (granted n/a) after 18 months of ownership.
I'd be very very happy in a similarly combo'd TT , when all is said and done , my car sold well , the buyer recognising that condition comes first.
I'd be a little wary of LHD though , and think it would make this car very hard to shift come sale time. It's a few grand too expensive at the mo imho.
.. And lets not even get into 'trip'!!

RFG - easily the best looking colour on a tt, just stunning, I'd pay extra for it.
LHD - I prefer the driving position in the LHD and its perfectly easy to live with. Just have to make sure the price reflects the fact.
Savannah - Not every bodies cup of tea and can look horrid on the wrong car. I happen to think it looks ok with Lapis or Black and don't think it would be too bad with RFG but certainly a small negative on the price.
TIP - Was toying with the TIP myself, certainly useful if you do a lot of town driving and with all that power I wasnt too concerened about performance being compromised, in the end I went manual, think it is price neutral as enough people, though maybe not PH's, would actively prefer a TIP.
You didnt say year and miles. At £35 k with the above spec I would hope it was a 2002 30k miles if its older and done more work I'd agree that £35 is a little toppy (driven mostly by the LHD) £32k for a 2000-2001 50-60k miles with the spec would be a lot of car for the money.
IF you do buy it you're certain to love the car, mine is awesome

As long as you go in eyes wide open - ie come resale time it will be a slow seller & when it does go it will take quite a hit because of its spec then why not ?
Although for an extra £5k you might just get yourself into a RHD car with a more "normal" spec (silver/black/RHD etc)
There is a silver 2000 Turbo in the classifieds with 42k miles for £41k, perhaps get this car for £40k ?
While £5k might just as well be £50k in terms of affording it, it would save probably a lot of bother at resale and also it would be RHD - much better then LHD.

Nooooooooooooooooo not silver just too many around and IMHO looks pretty ordinary, black looks great for 30 mins after youve cleaned it. For me RFG followed by Lapis, seal grey, midnight blue, black and sliver in that order among the more popular colours (although Guards red, speed yellow, viper green and maritime blue could also look good/interesting)Although for an extra £5k you might just get yourself into a RHD car with a more "normal" spec (silver/black/RHD etc)

Another thought on LHD is the whole market on the continent which can be accessed without too much hassel and at the moment seems to be at a premium to UK LHD prices.
Why buy from the bottom of the barrel?
Find a few more grand and then find a RHD car.
If you find that your budget means that you cannot choose from a good selection of decent motors of the type you want then I always feel that you should ammend your budget or car choice.
All IMVHO of course.

Depends what you fel able to compromise on. If it's your dream car you don't want that spoilt by compromise. If you must get into a turbo and this is the only way you can afford it, maybe you can live with the compromises.
I don't think 45K is low miles for a tt, so maybe it is actually a bit over-priced.

There are quite a few RHD, many Tips and a few Manuals, in good colours for not much more than £40K, including discount/deals.
You can buy a high miler LHD from Germany for approx 40,000 euros and take a look at this Silver one with 88,000Km for just under 53,000 euros.
LHD 996TT
Unless Im much mistaken compared to the one being discussed that car is :You can buy a high miler LHD from Germany for approx 40,000 euros and take a look at this Silver one with 88,000Km for just under 53,000 euros.
LHD 996TT
Older 2000 compared to 2001
Higher milage 55k miles compared to 45k
Higher price £36k plus import costs compared to £35 asking price
Silver with light gray leather !!!!!!!!!
Not sure that LHD imports are a cheaper route any more, I thinks theres more scope to export LHD cars from the UK.
I looked for 6 months before buying my car and there were very very few RHD cars around in the £40k and less range. Most are in the £45 to £46 space. Although I do know of a lovely RFG one at £41K.

LHD can live with at a push as i used to run a 965T2 which was LHD (Bit of a stretch at drive throughs!!)
What would be a good deal then ona PX given my car is a stunning 2 owner C4S?
Appreciate the comments.
