Back in 1995/1996 when the car was designed, Peter Wheeler was courting his future wife whom at the time worked at TVR.
As her favourite colour was blue, he promised her as a special treat that he would make all versions of the new car that were produced in Blue, a little quicker ( I believe there was a secret chip involved, which Ned had a hand designing, just after he did the indicator holes ion the Chimaera. He was going through his creative phase)
Therefore from that point onwards, all of the Blue cars have been that bit quicker than the others, some experts predicat as much as 10-15%, depending on wind direction and gravitational pull.
So if you have a blue car, thank Peter Wheelers pulling tactics.
....probably

I can safely say, hand on heart, that my blue Cerb is the fastest Cerb I have have ever owned.
There is also a significant gain from the very specialised pigment used in Blue Paint.
They use only the finest blue orchid petals, rolled against the thighs of hispanic virgins in the tradition of cuban cigars.
They are then placed in a vat where naked wrestling squeezes the pigment out.
This is in contrast to pigments used in other cerb paint, i.e. Custard, Snot and discarded Tampon.
Or so I am told......

Does it matter which type of blue? Mine is Imperial Blue and has kept pace with and actually out accelerated a couple of Ferrari F430's.... which it shouldn't if you look at the book stats?
But was it a fair test?? Were the fezzas blue??I have a Z4M in blue and it does 250 mph ( if it wasnt restricted)

exactly ...ferraris are red, therefore not as quick.
Ah, I understand now...Actually one of them was red and the other way yellow. The yellow one seemed a little quicker than the red one, but still only even stevens with the Cerb.
Honestly, how true is all this "slightly chipped up / fettled blue cars because of the love of a woman" story?

basically it has to do with the frequency of the reflected light from the paintwork...obviously blue light has a higher frequency than red or green and most definitely yellow...
no one mention those purple cars though...there is a limit to the quantum laws governing photons...and this limit comes in at about Starmist Blue...so these car are in fact the fastest you can get...after then in the spectrum things start going backwards...so purple ones are slower than blue one...don't blame me, blame nature.
