pirelli p zero nero's??
Discussion
have to get two new tyre for my gallardo.. all 4 tyres are currently on the reccomended pirelli p zero rosso's...
guy who does my tyre's reckons these are being discontinued and he suggest going with the pirelli p zero NERO...
just wondering with a 4wd car would it make much difference if i went with the nero on front and the rosso's on back??

I recently replaced the Rossos on the front of my Diablo. After speaking to the tyre people and discovering that the Rossos are no longer being made, they spoke to Pirelli on my behalf and were told that Corsas are a direct replacement for Rossos.
well thats all right then. i don't mind a soft compound at the expense of my £££ balance, after all sliding off the road and crashing into a mr whippy van will cost a lot more.lambogenie said:

Don't know about that. I drove through some of the most horrendous rain during my trip to Italy that even had the 4 wheel drive guys worried. Fair to say that I kept the speed down because it was difficult to see even with the wipers on full speed, but at no time did it feel like the tyres were struggling to cope with the conditions.ETA The tread on my tyres doesn't look anything like the tread on those in the link.

Maybe this table could help

PZero Neros are NOT a replacement of the Rosso.

Really confused now (doesn't take much!)
My understanding was Rosso's were being discontinued and the new p zero thats been developed is somewhere between the capabilities of the corsa and the rosso.
Hopefully that means durability of rosso and grip of corsa and doesn't mean a hard compound with no tread

MH - he's probably watching!!! Don't go and put ideas in his head(s)!!!
(although, he probably has a Riva Aquarama sitting in his 'pool' at the back of his 'showroom' with an Espada engine in it, like what they did what do and send to him what they did do... yes.
The Pirello P Zero Nero is definitely not a replacement for the Pirelli Rosso tyres.
The Pirelli P Zero Rosso is being discontinued by Pirelli and is being replaced by the Pirelli P Zero Punto. I have a feeling the sidewalls are not marked with "Punto", but this is what they are known as.
The new tyre is a better performing tyre than the Rosso (it is still very durable), but is not as track focussed as the Pirelli Corsa tyres (i.e. not as soft and has more tread).

Whoops - apologies time, been getting my knickers in a twist on this one.
Have just checked the car and discovered that the old tyres were P Zero Asimmetricos and that I have replaced them with P Zero Rossos!!
No wonder those Corsas didn't look familiar!
Now those were only replaced a couple of months ago so will be quite surprised if they have now stopped making them.
