Hi, I have been searching unsuccessfully, The head shield under my Chimmy's bonnet is coming unstuck. What is the best solvent to stick this back . Second as you probably know it gets warm in a Chimera, any ideas to help cooling the inside ,(I dont want aircon, and yes dropping the roof helps,) but in traffic its hot indoors when it rains.
Thank you wise ones.

I used this: Red Devil Industrial Grade Heat Resistant RTV Silicone Sealant

http://www.pronto.com/Sealers-and-Adhesives/Red-De...

It works perfect as a glue, i used it a few years back, it's still firmly attached to the bonnet.

Have a look at the mod-wise two stage colling kit:

This is designed to keep the engine cooler, which in turn keeps the inside of the car cooler. I have recently installed this and it does seem to work.

Yep, second that, been in my car for close to 4 years now, EXCELLENT value for money. Perfect for trackdays, you just dial a lower half speed setting and the engine doesn't heat up that much anymore.

I tried using that stuff (No More Nails in a tube), and it stank the cabin out for three month before turning to white powder and the heatshield came loose again.

Gripfill is the stuff you want. Sticks like sh*t to a blanket.
In a green tube from buiders merchants, B&Q & Wickes don't stock it.
Did mine with it 2 years ago and still OK. Also sticks domestic door frames in, and anything else for that matter. Do use gloves, difficult to remove from skin

Brilliant thank you all, ok next one, please.....after setting about working on sticking the the heatshield back, I realise I need to replace it. Under the bonnet and also throughout the engine bay etc. Any ideas on the following:
1) Can this be done easily at home?
2) What prosucts are best to use in the different areas.
3) Any tips or tricks.

If easier to take to someone to do , I live in London and work in Watford, so if there are any known suppliers or repairers this would be great.
Thank you

That's what I've used and still in place. Make sure it's the one that is high heat resistant.
