Battery charger!!

Following on from previous topic.....

Can you connect a trickle charger to the cigarette lighter socket to charge the battery (with no keys in the ignition), or does it have to be to the battery itself?

Anybody know?

Yes you can, if your cigarette lighter is working! Took me a couple of attempts but all ok and works a treat now.

Whether or not it's true, I've heard some cars have the cigarette lighter wired via the ignition switch, in which case it wouldn't work. Try the cigarette lighter with the key out of the ignition: if it works the charger will too.

Leven changer, cig lighter adaptor, it's a god send. I had problems getting it to work the first time but it's fine now. wouldn't be without it.
