which would normally mean a half mile journey to garage and a 10 minute round trip. Trouble is I took the Chim and told myself, "these short journeys are not good for the beatie, why not just have a bit of a blat". 40 miles later and a junction or two of the M25 I was home, milk in hand and large grin on face!

What's the longest unnecessary journey you have made in your TVR, because it is a TVR and you know about the 'perma-grin' thing?

When I had the TVR, the local Tesco was about 1 mile away. I'd take the 8 mile trip which started driving in the opposite direction. Not sure about driving on any motorways, though. Seems a bit boring.

When I had the Cerb, I was building my extension and had to replace my sons bedroom window. I had taken the old one out and obviously left a large hole in the house, I needed some more frame fixers for th new uPVC frame so I took the car to B&Q, 3 miles (ish) this journey took 4 Hrs (slight detour smile) by the time I got back it was dark, raining and bloody cold smile

I hired a tuscan about a month ago and needed to go to tesco. I didn't go to my local one which is 5 miles away, decided to go to the one in buckingham about 15 miles away.

However i encountered a lot of traffic on the way so didn't feel like i had a decent run so carried on to Bicester, about another 15 miles!

Am getting my own TVR next week so i expect to be doing this a lot more often!

Boulogne, dropped son at school just outside Maidstone with Pam and went through the tunnel and had some lunch, chased back a bit to pick him up on the way home. 8 hours

Nice idea! Unfortunately the tivvy was stationary for tunnel time! What was the noise like when you fired her up in the train at the other end? Tell us, tell us, please!!!

Living in Gerrards Cross, I went to meet a friend in the same town who said I need to buy some clothes. So a random trip to Bicester via the backroads making the odd detour to wherever I fancied using up about a tank.

Also, went to Le Mans. Instead of coming straight back, decided to continue around to Carnac, by the wet stuff, for a day then drive back through the villages from there.
