I need to choose some seats for my imminently to be completed locoblade. So far i have been looking at playskool grp shell seats due to there ligh weight properties. I have heard that these are not very rigid, has anyone got any advice about seats. I have also heard a small rumour that Tillet (caterhams) seat people may be making seats for other sevens???

Thanks
Chris (newbie)

Hi Chris, first of all welcome to PH

I use the Plays-Kool GRP seat in my Westfield and as it's wedged in a bit, is quite rigid....although it's not been put to the test on track yet. In all honesty there isn't much space for the seat to move about but braces can always be made if needs be.

The Tillet seats are fantastic seats, and so they should be at £250 a go. There is another company making them but I can't remember the name off the top of my head, I'm sure it's been covered on here before but IIRC they are carbon fibre so probably more rigid.

I notice that you are in Surrey, where abouts? You are quite welcome to come and have a look at my Plays-Kool GRP seat, drop me a mail offline if you are interested.

Juansolo on here is more educated on the Tillet seats than I am.

How much space do you have to play with? My reason for getting the GRP one was because buckets wouldn't fit as it is too narrow, you could always try the Westfield padded sports seats.

If you have enough space, try looking at buckets, you can pick two up for less than one Tillet

Anyway, Hope this helps!!!

Graham
