When I was previewing my last post on this thread - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Originally I had a comma in the Quote titled "Paul Tracy, Crash.net" (obviously in the quote brackets) when I previewed this it moved the page formatting to a very narrow column on the left side of the screen. Is it the comma or the combination of comma and fullstop in the line causing this? Taking the comma out put it back to normal.

Screencap below.

The quoting doesn't work with the comma in, but shouldn't have any effect on the screen width.

For example:

Paul Tracy crash.net said:
The quote without a comma in should extend across the screen
[quote=Paul Tracy, crash.net]The quote with a comma in doesnt work and just breaks the screen
Though this could be a specific browser quirk or the stylesheet not loading properly, what browser are you using?

Very curious.. I have tested it on Windows XP SP2 with Firefox v 2.0.0.4 and it the width works fine (though the quoting is still broken with a comma in), is it still happening now?

Yep, exactly the same.

The quoted bit was [quote=Paul Tracy, Crash.net] editing my post on the first page to this again, then clicking preview makes it go all silly again.

Have broken it myself now smile And several different characters (# , " etc) cause a problem with the quoting, have added to the bug list to see if there is anything we can do with this.
