Boot alarm switch.
Discussion
It seems that sometimes the boot is registering as open as when I arm the alarm I get 4 bleeps as if something is left open but when I open and close the boot and rearm the bleeping disappears.
When I close the lock with the boot open the light switches off ok, does the alarm work off the lock as well?

How long do you wait before you arm the alarm? It takes a few seconds for the system to quiesce (sp?). I always get four beeps if I get out of the car, shut the door and arm it quickly, but if I wait a few seconds before arming it, it never does it.

Exactly - there is a timer built into the alarm/immobiliser system,Gordon.

!If I press the key fob reasonably soon after getting out and closing the door, I get 4 bleeps at the same time as 4 indicator flashes..
If I am slow off the mark, I get no bleeps but 2 flashes of the indicators.
Never quite understood the logic of this or whether or not the car is alarmed in exactly the same way in both cases?

The interior light has a 10 second(or whatever it is) delay to it. Hence if you get out and alarm the car within this time the alarm senses an open electrical circuit and gives you 4 beeps. If you alarm it outside this time the light is out hence a closed circuit and no beeps. Try it.
