Should the leather gear and handbrake gaiters be fixed to anything? Mine look quite untidy because you can see in to the transmission tunnel through the space around them.

If i remember right, they are usually glued to the under side of the transmission tunnel/arm rest thingy.

Isn't there a nice ali gear stick surround?
Which neatly clamps the gaiter to the tunnel?

Yep stuck to the underside of the centre console.

You can get 2 or 3 trims, a pressed Ali one on ebay (starts at £14 usually) a funky bolt together milled item at £80!!!! and another which screws into the console. nono

It looks like glueing it will be massive job. I assume you need to remove the centre armrest/console. I can't find one of the ally bexels easy through google, has anyone seen one anywhere whilst browsing??

Just lift the centre console up from the rear.

Brush on some evo-stick to both parts, wait a few mins and then push together, job jobbed.

I've just bought one of the £80 jobbies from Dave Beevers in York. See here for pics and contact details http://www.aauk.biz/Cerbera/cerberanews10.htm

I know its a lot, but it really looks the part and secures the gaiter without gluing or using self tappers etc.

Arguably not, but my gaiter is detached and it spoils the whole interior - when anyone gets a ride they comment at how cool the interior is befor pointing at the gaiter and going 'I can see what they mean about build quality'. As I can't get my hand underneath it, there isn't a lot I can doo to fix it either. Also, I know if I got the £14 one from ebay I'd always look at it and think 'hmmm, I wish I'd got the other one'. I should have it by Thurs so will let you know what I think after its fitted.

This one seems to match the dial surrounds perfectly.

Sorry, slightly off-topic, but does anyone know if there is one for the hand brake too? Previous owners of my car have damaged the trim by pulling the handbrake to almost vertical!!
