I know 2 people who brought from the US and they work fine, just need the KU band

I've contacted the company this morning and told them its for UK use, just waiting for a reply

They arrived today, whats the best setting, turning off the X and Ka band, i've read the X band isnt used in the UK and Ka is being faded out. I've turned the Ku setting on.

But I tend to use nedit when I have X or Vim when I don't.

Vi is 'bare bones field system' last resort.

According to www.speedtraps.co.uk their UK spec V1 has X and Ka bands off with K and Ku bands on.

I spoke to the manufacturers there isn't a UK or European specific unit, one unit covers the world. Its just a case of deciding which bands to have turned on/off

That confirms what I've read regarding Ku and K, cheers going to try it out tonight and go camera hunting

I have my V1 that I brought over when I moved back from the US.

Works fine, and the instructions for turning the various bands on and off are posted on the v1 web site.

However, it's less useful here than in the States, where it picked up everything short of instant-on laser - in the UK it doesn't pick up Truvelos and you don't get a signal from some fixed speedtrap cameras until you're right on them

Far superior to any other radar detector I've ever seen in action

Hope this helps - Mike F
