05 Tamora...chances of selling?
Discussion
No idea on price, but you could put on PH clasifieds here: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/ and see what happens.
Don't give it away your Tamora is worth high 20s remember the golden rule everything comes to those who wait.If its in A1 condition etc it will sell.
Don't forget no more will ever be built and prices can only go up,if its not sold in first week increase it by £50 week on week.If it does nothing else it will help stabilize TVR prices.

If your selling because you have to, I can understand - otherwise I can't understand why you would want to sell it!
The vast majority of Tamora owners realise what a gem they have, which is why you don't see many for sale......

Absolutely right, only about 350 Tams were made, and I've been told recently by a dealer that the Tamora is the must under rated of the TVRs. It's worth holding on to it if you can.

The used value of a TVR is very dependant upon the car being a desireable colour combination inside and out avoiding some of the more 'garish' colour schemes that TVR's policy of 'any colour you like' gave birth to. The fact you have a/c is a big plus (even on a soft top as they still get hot on sunny days). I would say that assuming your car is not deglo pink with yellow trim you should be looking at £22-£24k initially for a realistic saleable price. If you need to shift it quickly then it may be a case of dropping to £20k. This is all in my amateur opinion of course! Its the right time of year for it and get some really nice pictures for the advert as presentation makes a big difference.
Thanks guys for the info. The colour is ok, Imperial blue. Not the best blue, but sertainly a good colour!
Yes it is a hard decision to move it on and it's not a foregone conclusion yet. If I could keep it and do want I want to do on the car front I certainly would. But change beckons!

This has to be the very worst advice i've seen on PH.Don't forget no more will ever be built and prices can only go up,if its not sold in first week increase it by £50 week on week.If it does nothing else it will help stabilize TVR prices.

That car when new would have cost about 40K including his A/C etc no TVR will loose 50% of its value assuming it's 2 years old if it were your car would you expect that kind of depreciation I DONT THINK SO.
Afterall its the seller thats sets his/her price and what the buyer is willing to pay for a two year old Tamora is the other factor.
If thats the worst advice you've seen on P/H its no wonder this green and pleasant land of ours is in such a shit state.
Of course SEN18 and other Tamora owners will find it impossible to give an unbiased view on values. It's only human nature to think that something you own is worth far more than it really is. If it cost just under 40K when new then the S/H value now would be sub 20K - unless of course SEN18 wants to start a collection of Tamoras and give you high 20Ks for it -
I think not.

You sound just like our old friend Jigs I think not.

However SEN18 has a point, it will be the Tamora owners who will dictate the the future residual values of there cars, demand will eventually outstrip supply for the best convertible TVR ever made. I wish i was in postion to upgrade, an Imperial blue Tam would be my first choice in colour

prices can only go up
Or down. Most likely down.I agree with what you said about changing the price each week it doesn't sell, although I (call me eccentric) would actually decrease the price.
However if your strategy of increasing the price really does work, then I would advise OP to increase it by say, £1 million at a time to provide a nice retirement fund to offset the disappointment of being without his Tiv.
Oh hold on you're in luck - SEN18 and T66ora are going to start a bidding war for your Tamora!
Seriously a discontinued TVR with a Speed6 engine and a dubious supply of new parts has not got a lot going for it in the short to mid-term - there is a chance that long-term values may firm up but by long-term I mean 10 to 20 years.
Personally I love the Tamora but I wouldn't buy one unless it was seriously cheap - I suspect your only hope of getting much more than 50% of its original value is if a previous Tamora owner who had had no serious issues wants another one for sentimental reasons.
Sad but true and only time will tell.

I am looking to sell my May 05 Tamora, A/C, 13k miles, spiders, service history etc. Any ideas of whether it'll sell? Or more likely what the price will need to be?
I reckon the best way to judge these things is to look at similar ads on the main market places, then underprice them a little, and see if anyone bites, then lower the price unemotionally after a while until they do.There's a similar spec private one to your description on Autotrader for about £26k, so I'd take a look at it, decide whether or not yours is comparable, then undercut it a little for your starting point. Just bear in mind that as its a niche market, the price there may be unrealistic (it may even be underpriced if you are lucky).

Truth is, as much as we'd all like to believe our car is worth to others what we think it should be, in the end the market decides the price. The seller just decides whether the transaction goes ahead from their end.
Good luck with the sale.

Having been recently in the market for Tamora/T350/Tuscan I think prices are still a little low on the Tamora, James Agger has a lovely clean looking 2004 car for £19995 but with higher mileage than most, I'd expect a private 2005 to be around the £23-25k, if it was down as low as £20k I'm sure it would sell very quick.
Might be worth asking what a dealer will give you for it, then you can get an idea of how much you need to ask to make it worth your while selling privately.
