Hi, new here, and first post is that ive a problem, sorry. I have a new (07) 997 C2. I will have a new baby in october, please god. I have a car seat that goes in the front of car. I looked in the manual to see how to turn off the front passenger air bag, showed a picture of a key operated slot on the side of the dash at the door. Suprise suprise, theres none on mine, none on either side,

1)why is this ?

2)Is mine somewhere else ?

3) is in an optional extra to be able to turn it on and off ?

4) now how am I going to be able to transport my baby ?

5) is there a car seat I can get, for a new born, that goes / fits in the back ?

Thanks for any help, starting to panic about this. have an X5 for family driving, however I would like to be able to take the baby in the porsche if I wanted to.

Cheers.

Hi

You can have the child seat deactivation retro fitted at OPC for around £300 this will give you the key recess you have seen in your handbook which when turned with the key will switch off your passenger airbag.

If you do a search of this forum you will find details of car seats that fit the back too.

be aware that the deactivation only works with the clip that you get with a Porsche babyseat...it is a bit of a scam by Porsche

That particular scam was actually limited to the 996/986 generation - 997 and 987 use a key switch as described by the OP so will work with any seat.

....Becasue the seat clip 'scam' could be used on more than one car/sold on E-bay when child is old enough or car sold. The key thing, now that's car specific so greater sales and more money to be made.

Synic moi?
