Grinding noise when locking!
Discussion
Boxster 2, 2001.
Yesterday when driving there was a grinding motorised noise, stopped and checked it out. It was from the fuel cap area. Locked and unlocked the car and it stopped but now when i lock it, not when i unlock it, I get a short high pitched grind/motor noise from the fuel cap area. To me the logical answer is the locking mechanism for the fuel cap is buggered.
Any tips on past experiences welcome before I book it in to be checked out,
Also any tips on changing/suppliers of headlight bulbs would be welcome.
Cheers

Check that fuel flap locking pin guide is in place properly, they have a tendency to become dislodged resulting in the noise you are experiencing.Yesterday when driving there was a grinding motorised noise, stopped and checked it out.
