Just wandering, any pics? theres been a handful of failures. Is it the main shaft itself? inboard or outboard?

At the end by the groove for the circlip. Its a known weekpoint. The raceproved ones dont have the groove.

The CV joints have GKN on them so you could be right. I bought a replacement for this one for £30 plus Vodka and tonic from a local breakers. They have another one in very soon so at that money i'm going to buy the other two!!
I'm almost looking at it as shear point though as its cheaper than a diff or box!

I've heard that these driveshafts are the same as used on Vauxhall Carltons etc., however the ones used by TVR were Lotus Carlton spec. so the £30 ones you have, while the same size, may not be as strong.

Like I say, this was what I was told once, but could be worth checking out.

Well they are off a Cerbera that was breaking, so unless they have been changed in a former life then they are the same spec.
