Bonnet removal
Discussion
Hello all - just a quick question for guidance please.
What is the simplest way to remove the bonnet as the nose hinge section on mine is loose allowing the bonnet to tilt to the side when raised thus scuffing the wing edge.
Is it simply a matter of removing the two allen bolts per side or are there other fixings to access? ('93 400 by the way)
Kind regards in advance

Allen bolts 2 each side is the easy way, they may be tight coming out just work em back an forth with plenty of plusgas,oh yes if you mean that the box thingy that is supposed to be secured to the bonnet and the front edge(houses the pivot bolts)is loose mine was too, i removed the bonnet and re/rivetted that section and bonded it too as my bonnet was sagging on one corner i think these cars are prone to this(cerbs too)i will say one thing mine will never do that again
its rock solid now its easy as long as you have a rivet gun and some 3m body adhesive.

Thanks TD - as you so rightly put it, the box thingy is as loose as a tarts drawers so a fixing of sorts is required.
Thanks Fraser - tried that in the wedge a while ago but the problem is that the bonnet wants to take the rest of the front of the car with it - most engaging
Regards all.
