Can't blame him for trying but private a significant premium to a dealer?

It would be a bugger...especially having paid full list. Even with the deal I got (10% or thereabouts) it would hurt. I suspect a main dealer would offer him £32K. If you had to get out, it would hurt. In fact, in such circumstances, many people probably couldn't afford to get out. Nightmare.

You can get a prereg two grand cheaper than that, surely hes made a pricing mistake.

Can somebody explain why these cars suffer so much price wise.

On paper they would appear to be a great sports car. I've never seen one on the road and the press don't seem to say a great deal about them. I assume they haven't sold well from new and therefore are difficult to shift when used????

Cheers

The poor s*d hasn't got a hope in hell - dealers are selling the same car new for the same money.

As discussed in another thread, AUC Z4MCs are available for under £30k!!

I must admit im tempted to chop my M3 for a z4mc, they are awesome cars. The depreciation must calm now, as they are certainly worth 30K IMO.

The only danger is the threat of the M3 engine making it into the z4mc in the future, I don't know how true or not this is, but the straight 6 is wikid, so as long as that didnt hammer residuals too much, I cant see them being a bad buy to be honest!

I think in the recent evo road and track review, a renault megane was placed higher than the coupe I don't know why. Maybe it just hasn't been received well by the press and that has had an impact on demand.

frown Well I can't get one close to me at the prereg price above or the price on autotrader 29k. I suppose its just a waiting game.

Awww, I'm sorely tempted too but the depreciation is a little worrying...but it does seem like a lot of car for £30k (ish). I test drove a press pack one at BMW High Wyc and it was great - I think it sold for £31k ish with no sat-nav after sitting for 6 weeks. I know of a white one for sale in a few months (1 owner, few miles) but have a feeling its going to be more than I'm willing to pay based on how much they are going for...

.....mmmm but it is white and looks sooo good.

I was offered a new white one a few weeks back, price was close to 40k and for the same reason turned it down, white is by far the best colour on the Z4 though so it was a head vs heart tug of war and unfortunatey i'm getting old so the head won!

The BMW AUC site has about 50% of the cars that it had on there 3 weeks ago and i'd say prices will start holding again, at least I hope so

As much as I like the above car Altringham bmw had the same spec and mileage car for £29,995. If I can't get one at this price I'm keeping clear.

I have looked at that, it is very nice but for some reason the dealer couldn't do the deal and I chose elsewhere, i would have bitten their hand off if they came remotely close to the deal I had elsewhere and i even told them that

PorschecaymanS don't suppose you could let us know who offered you this deal.
