Does anybody have any advice/tips on racing a BMW E36? My team mates and I are planning to convert a 1992 318is into a racing car.

I need to check the rules but I think we'll be in a Group N class so we won't be modifying the engine, and need to keep same size brakes and similar size wheels/tyres.

If anybody has experience with a racing E36 and has any tips on things that worked well with the car, or didn't work well, they would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Simon

Not quite the same model (E30) but there might be some crossover here: http://www.selocmotorsport.com/

Thanks for the reply!

We have a bit of E30 experience already (see profile) this was just a bit of a shot in the dark to see if anyone had specific E36 help.

That SELOC championship looks like a brilliant laugh!

hey y'all

I'm going to be sharing the car with Simon and we will compete in the VLN class v2 to 1850cc. As Simon said it is a production touring car class, so the modifications are limited I think to brakes, bolted in roll cage, stripped body (retaining dash), springs and dampers and some talk of reinforcing and laterally slotting turrets to allow camber adjustment only. The car has a minimum weight limit of 980kg and a maximum power allowed of 140bhp.
