Exhaust scraping, no leathers, central london

It was a good contrast on Saturday between the bike police forces: The gendarmes in short sleeved shirts, open face lids and thin non-protective trousers; and the Met in full leathers, reflective jackets, full face helmets.
No doubt which looks cooler, and perhaps the french guys just never crash... You'd certainly be in a big mess after a high speed getoff, wearing what they wear.

That's because France doesn't have an equivalent of the Health and Safety Executive. No State nannying on their side of the pond, and it's probably a better country because of it!Lambochick said:

This picture has surely got to be the subject of a caption competition G

both of these officers look like the have just witness something distasteful!I got caught out by motorcycle riding gendarmes on the autoroute years ago. I was fairly moving along the road at about 6am on a summer Sunday morning, and saw a biker way up ahead who I was clearly going to overtake at a rate of knots. Never mind I thought, can't be the police as they're just riding in t-shirts.

Only my wife speaks French, so I received a bollocking by proxy. I was particularly impressed that I was saluted before my dressing down began
