Nintendo Wii - Is it as good as people are making out?

Im in two minds whether or not to get one, so I need some of your opinions on how good they actually are.

So far everyone I have spoken to say they are great but im unsure...

I've had mine since it came out and the novelty is starting to wear off due to lack of any decent games coming out but i'd definately say it's worth the money!

novelty wore off very fast for me.

Great if you've a couple of freinds round though, it's certainly the most socially orientated.

Rotty bought me one in June for our wedding anniversary - I love playing tennis, golf, and bowling on it. We bought Rayman raving Rabbids for it - that's quite a giggle. Recently bought Kororinpa for it - like an upgraded version of Kula World - the kids like that one. It's loads of fun if you've got 4 handsets, some tequila and a bit of room....

Got bored of mine.

Games are original but I still wanted conventional FPS and driving games.

Price is good though and its a quality bit of kit, nothing like the crap Microsoft sell.

I sold mine for a 360 and dont regret it because it has more my type of games but it would be a good combination to have both!

I love mine (there are a few other threads asking exactly the same thing, for more help!)
Zelda is great fun and Resi 4 Wii edition looks good!
It's a completely different experience, but a fascinating one!
All of my mates have been bowled over by it!

If you do bite the bullet and don't like it, if you ebayed you'd probably get near enough what you paid for it! Considering the continuing stock problems

Mr Purpletvr loves ours, he's currently playing Resident Evil 4, one of the more "grown up" games available. Wii is much more sociable than other games consoles, loads of fun with a few of you, some alcohol and 10-pin-bowling! And you don't have to wear those awful bowling shoes...

Think thats the key thing about it!
It is interesting trying to play the boxing when drunk... or the virtual-outside-bar-brawl!
Did MrPurpletvr play the GameCube version of Resi 4 before the Wii version?
Interested to know how they compare, as I have the former and want to know if it is worth buying the Wii version
