How much oil does your 996 tt use?

Would like to know if my cars thirst for liquid gold is as much as others out there.

I have used a litre in under a month and covered 2-3k. Car is 01 now on 39k.

I have a 2000 996 tt on 29,000 miles, and i would say you are doing well, mine uses about a litre every 1500 miles. A very good friend of mine works for Porsche and advises this is the norm, hope this puts your mind at ease.
Bloody great car though!!!

Mines about the same, done about 5k in it now and put in about 2 liters, and it needs topping up now.

at one stage i thought mine was going to drink more oil than petrol

My old C2 had a thirst for the black stuff but this is something else!!

as the above posters, about 1 litre every 1500 miles seems to be the norm

I seem to recall OPC telling me that 1 litre / 600 miles was within spec. That was for my C4S.

My TT S has dropped by 4 bars on the digital oil guage in about 1200 miles.

Can anyone tell me how much 1 bar is (in litres) on the digital oil guage? Not sure how to top up, as without a dip stick you can't easily chuck a bit in and re-measure.

A rough calculation is that 1 bar on digital read out = 200ml. So 1l is 5 bars.

1 Bar on the read out is 250ML of oil....doesent seem anything wrong with any of the oil consumption readings on this page...i get cars in all the time for this concern especially 996TT.

Driving in town my 997tt uses app 1 litre per 1000 miles. On the open road it is app. half that. Beware of not overfilling as that can cause problems.
