Bonnet catch broken

My bonnet unexpectedly popped up at speed today, when i looked at the cause it was that the glass fibre had broken, the bit that the alloy bolts to. Is there a mod or is it just a case of the matting and resin time?

My bonnet floats quite alarmingly so I have been meaning to turn up some replacements for the plastic ends in alloy or steel for a while now. Should only take 5 mins once I get my arse into gear.

my plastic bit snapped on one side - chemical metal seems to have done the trick !

fitted a chin spoiler at the weekend and that seems to have eliminated the bonnet wobble!
