ANY ONE GOING ?????
EXCELLENT EVENT.....
Events
Sunday 1st June 2003
Stanford Hall, near Lutterworth, Leicestershire.
Stanford Hall Auto Italia Concours

Following the success of last year's Auto Italia concours, we are pleased to announce that we will once again be gathering the best of the UK's concours quality Italian cars at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire. Main features of the event will include the Auto Italia Concours, the Maserati Club Concours, the Ferrari Owners' Club Concours and a display of Italian exotica. This is a great opportunity to see some of the most beautiful cars these marques have to offer.

In addition to the main attractions there will be Italian car club displays featuring the very best of Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Lamborghini and coachbuilt models arriving from across the UK and Europe. There will be a huge range of car related goodies and spare parts on sale at the autojumble along with trade stands, refreshments and a concession on entrance to the elegant stately home. Visitors will also have the opportunity to check-out their car's horsepower rating on a mobile rolling road.

To be considered for a free concours entry, owners of interesting pre-1985 Italian cars or non-Italian cars with Italian coachbuilders are invited to contact Phil Ward on 01462 678205 or email info@auto-italia.co.uk. Based on simple criteria the judging will be more on appeal and general presentation rather than excessively shiny nuts and bolts. The concours area will be in the prime position directly in front of the Hall.

Adult entry is £6. Gates open from 09.00
For enquiries concerning autojumble and trade stands please call Ruth Dunham on 01707 273999 x 244 or email ruth@trmg.co.uk

Thanks for posting this Justin- I was about to start googling. I know a few people who are going to it. You don't have directions to hand by any chance?

The are as follows.

Lutterworth is a Junction 20 of the M1, best to go to Junction 19.

Standford Hall is further south to Junction 19.

Standford Hall is just off the M1 at Junction 19 then onto A14 heading in the direction of Kettering. Stanford Hall is in the village of Stanfard on Avon.

The exact location is:

www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x=458600&y=279493&z=5&sv=458600,279493&st=4&mapp=newmap.srf&searchp=newsearch.srf

There are a number of Ferrari Owners Club area groups holding their concours there (Frostie may even win teh Herts one). Hertfordshire Ferrari are aiming to get there around 10.00am. We have named this the 'wash it and see' concours. Should be a good day.

Do come and say hello - we are a friendly bunch.

Simon

PS - Kevin - are you going to enter your 456 into our concours?

PPS - Frostie, don't forget that only cash is acceptble if you win.

Christ almighty!I'm having a real problem visualising you up at dawn's crack with a toothbrush up your cars' jacksie . Just out of interest, what did Simon say to convince you to do it? My imagination's working overtime (except for the bit with the toothbrush)......

Who's Dawn

I responded to Simon's email with a question which seemed to get me automatic entry. Good to see there are more entries now which I have absolutely no chance of beating and therefore won't have to prove I cannot clean a car properly again

Do you have to come in an Italian sports car or can anybody turn up for a look around? (Obviously I'll park the TVR out of site!)

Dropped in for a couple of hours (before getting nabbed, but thats another story!), some lovely kit there though; highlights for me:
Ferrari 250LM
De Tomasa Pantera
Ferrari 246GT Dino's
Alfa SZ's
Ferrari F40
Ferrari 512bb
Maserati Bora's
& in the car park: Honda NSX, TVR T350C (Flasher, was that you?)
Well worth a whole £6, Stanford hall's a nice photographic backdrop too...
Shame no Muira / Countach / Murcielago

Hi Kev,

Didn't see your 456 there, but then I left at 12 in a bid to get home and catch some grand prix action (needn't have bothered and got done speeding too. Bugger!). Were you in the 996?

Hi Steve,
Sorry to hear about your being zapped on the way back, which was on another thread. Pisser. Saw one of those bar-stard mobile units on the grass verge of the A14 near Kettering today (legal parking?). Luckily we were in my wifes' SUV, which has the aerodynamics of a bungalow.

We did come in the 456, parked behind the hospitality tent in the Ferrari area. We only got there around 11.30 though, so could easily have missed you. Lots of nice cars there I thought- better than Donnington.

Take care Steve.
