Replacement Key for Audi A6 - 2000

Hi

I need a spare key for my A6 (2000 W reg).

Audi want ridiculous money so any tips on getting a replacement for less £££? Would rather not buy on ebay as bored with all the scams etc. and there's not many there anyway.

As I see it there's 4 things I need to pay for

The physical key/fob (Where from?)
Cutting the blade (Who can do this? laser cut I hear?)
Programming the remote to open doors (I have instructions for this though)
Programming the remote to work with the immobiliser (Can only Audi do this bit?)

I am in the same boat with an imobiliser problem with a VW T4 van!

Cloak and dagger stuff, and no doubt a big bill.

In short it seems so.

Believe it can be done DIY with VAG-COM, but you need a code from the dealer.
