What do you think of this form a dealer.
I bought my car in 2001from BRANDON in Edinburgh it was 10 mounths old and was the dealers demo, love the car and still do, it was looking a bit tired and dated in my mind so i thought i would go for the speed 12 light conversion and full body re-spray. Bodyshop informs me today that the car has had previous front end damage it was full filler at the front end right wing was totaly gutted to here this as i was thought i bought a mint near new car with no previous damage or heavy handed owners. Just goes to show never trust a dealer to tell you the full story.

Accidents happen. It sounds like the repair was good enough for you not to have noticed it for six years.

I bought a Tuscan in October and only later have noticed that the rear offside has been repaired.
Oh well what the hell. Life goes on etc etc.
Now I know its there I will have to get the finish improved and a respray sorted.

By the way, have you asked the original dealer for their comments
and the potential risk to their reputation etc etc.

It might be a case of life goes on, but the prestine, uncrashed condition dictates the price...

The original dealer went T*ts up not long after i bought it so they wont have to worry about reputation.
It was a top quality repair said the bodyshop but still when you get sold a car that is ment to be undamaged it just pisses you of a bit when you find out later on down the line, wither that be weeks or years.

Perhaps justice was done then.

Yes I understand and didnt mean to sound like .."get over it".
I have had to take a lot of deep breaths just lately with lifes kicks in the face.
ie. day after Tuscan collection, discover engine is sh'ged and warrantee was only good for the WC.
Dont suppose it helps that they went bust as there is no one to attack over it and your not supposed to kick the dog.

It may have been damaged and repaired by the factory before delivery to the dealer.

Yep, you would be amazed how many brand new cars are repaired before delivery, I worked for a very big main dealer (not TVR) 10 years back, almost all cars in the summer had their bonnets, roofs and boots painted before delivery due to 'fly damage' then there was the ones that got knocked in the compound or during dealer transfers, plus all the salesman’s demos, good few of those had lots of work before they were fit to sell as a three month old car.
