Hi everyone

Searched wortec, greens and here..

I am seriously considering upgrading to the VXR500 spec (S/C, cat backs etc) from a completely stock 05 VXR 6l. But I can't find a price to do this, for those that have had it done what sort of figure ( £ ) am I looking at?

More importantly, what will I notice when I put my foot down? evilbiglaughyikes

Cheers

To upgrade exactly to the VXR 500 spec will cost you the price of a non intercooled supercharger only, as that is the only difference over the std car.
I ran my car with the blower and std exhaust for some while, the car went like greased weasel poo you will not be disappointed.

A scream and whine from under the bonnet at the same time as the scenery going backwards.

I can't help with the costs though. Seem to remember there was mumblings of circa £5k but don't hold me to that.

I believe the supercharger has been supersceded so prices aren't currently correct.

Does the new s/c offer any tangible benefits over the old one? Does anyone know the cost differential?

Don't forget that the VXR500 also had Ripshifter, full exhaust, AP brakes, and I'm sure a few other things....

With the Supercharger you are just talking about the power - might be a good idea to be able to stop once you've got it going.......

Certainly at the time £10k was talked about to bring it up to full VXR500 spec....

As per previous post be crisisjez, the VXR500 had just a supercharger. All the other stuff were optional extras. All good extra mind

IMO you should save the bit extra for the intercooler to optimise it.

I think the intercooler is great (and essential for the 5.7). Looks like the new Air Filter could also be one of those essentials in reducing heat - getting mine fitted later in the month so will see what difference it makes.

A lot of guys suffered with heat probs last sat, have to say the new CAI did a good job of supplying cool air as my run`s all remained consistant all day.
