Calling any mot gurus

2 things.
i was talking to an mot tester the other day nad he said a car can be failed if the tester thinks the exhaust not is too loud...?
I can see a problem when i finally get my car back together and take it for the mot, unless i get hold of another exhaust?
Door opening - i have a pre-facelift and have removed the door lock/release with the intention of fitting the under mirror release like the facelift has. Could i get away with not having the under mirror release and just have it opening using a remote control keyfob or do you need a physical switch/handle to open the door???

Andy, go to www.carbuildersolutions.co.uk.
Search under exhausts or silencers & look for part no #SILBAF.
Its a bolt in baffle. you can takeit out after the mot & use it next year.
£12 quid odd each I think.

MOT testing can vary quite a bit as a lot of it is down to the tester, the legal limit for a road car exhaust is 112dB this is equivalent to a jet plane taking off. I have never ever been sound checked at an MOT only at track days and once at the side of the road by the police ( it passed). My wedge was usually very close to the top in the loudest car sound off's which happen at TVR meetings these days and I never had any problems.
so you should be alright there.
If you need an external door handle why do Cerbera's pass OK?
as long as there is an internal and external door release ( buttons in both cases on the cerb) there is no control on how it is actuated
