new born to 9 month old baby help!
Discussion
posted earlier asking about baby seat for a new born. RT replied positively saying that you can get a baby seat for a new born in the back of a 996 and said that there were loads of posts floating around. I have searched lots of these but cannot find a definitive answer for a baby 0-9 months (ours is 1 week old). Lots of info on babies 9 months plus but what do I need to buy to get the ankle biter strapped into the back? gaffa tape?
Others must have had this problem.....

Hi congrats on the new arrival, our little one is 15wkhs old. We fit a (rear-facin) maxi-cosi cabrio seat in the back with 3 point belt.Others must have had this problem.....
Best thing u can do is speak to:
1. Mothercare
2. Dorel UK.
3. The specialist based in Queensbury, Stanmore.
I was in the OPC in Hatfield a few weeks back test driving a 997tt and while waiting spied lots of baby seats of all sizes and shapes. Forgive my ignorance on the subject of the 996 but a 997 takes an ISO fix mounting which is sort-of generic. Might be worth a trip to the OPC to ask.
You can also pick up the fantastic Porsche racing bear for £40 while you are there. I bought one a while ago for a young member of the family and he loves it!

i bought my 996 two days before my son was born and we've had no problems using the maxi-cosi in the 996tt since he was about 2 weeks old. you do however have to remove the base part of the seat (held in with velcro) and have the passenger seat as far forward as you can get it.
hope that helps and congrats...

Congrats for the newborn.
We are using a graco 2 part base and carrier type thing, base fits in car and carrier drops in then lifts out when you release a clip. In a car with less space in the back the base will just strap in to a standard seat belt, however as said above when less space is available you might need to push passenger seat forward.

I got my 996 when my son was 4 months old. The rear-facing car seat from the Urban Detour Extreme travel system fits in the back behind the driver's seat - though I'm only 5'7 so the seat isn't too far back.
You'll have more trouble getting a pram to fit in the 996 though. We've just bought a Quinny Zapp stroller which fits in the front compartment.
BTW congrats and good luck!
