I hope the engine sounds are upto the standard of the fancy trailers...gearbox whine does not cut the mustard for me. The Forza series & PGR have cracked it...the old GT3 & 4 were well below par...The TOCA series have proved it can be done perfectly on a PS2....unforgivable if they simply rip the old sounds onto the PS3 platform...

Yep, GT5 demo was stunning until you actually took control or openend your ears.Polyphony need to just start from scratch with the sounds imho, re-using the same old samples and engine for them literally ruins a game.
Sound is just as important as graphics, and the sounds haven't moved on since GT2/3 at best...

Pagani's would nice as well.
Yeah, GT3 had three, ok they were all much the same, but having the full range was nice especially as the 7.3S commanded such a premium on price! Though all the gears were about 5/8ths too short which made them flawed for any stock car racing (ie, needed racing gearbox to go over 125mph)GT Concept even had a blue one and a silver one! Nice.
Then GT4 goes to just ONE Pagani, in ONE colour?
I think Polyphony Digital need to get their act together generally. They have beautiful visual content wrapped up in dogshite UI/sounds/technical details... poor artists

It looks lovely, but I want to see some gameplay footage. Sound is good but it's blatantly dubbed on and not coming from the game engine, watch for the Audi being hard under braking with the soundtrack still throttles to the firewall.
If they sort the sound and the question marks in the handling, get the cars to lay rubber and sneak the damage back in, it could be excellent.
If the sound and the handling don't get sorted, then meh.

Does look very nice - so much better than Forza 2, lets hope it plays well too.
I see there are more cars on track than previously...

Might have to get a PS3 sooner than I thought!!

The visual details must be straight from manufacturer 3d data, and then optimised for game engine use... I wonder what the workload really was per car now as I've had some mesh optimised CAD models of 120k polys of Porsches and they almost make the 3d modellers job null and void compared to what it used to be. No more texturing door lines/details, just extrapolate them using good procedures from manufacturer models...
I really just do hope that the same detail that is shown in the visuals is spent on the handling physics, sounds, game modes, AI and customisation etc...
What would be terrible is if the AI is not really intelligent at all, the cars have inaccuracies and handle weird in certain circumstances, and it's just a shiny looking turd again
