Anyone up for a convoy driving from the Essex area or those who would like to meet up en-route, on the morning for the event? Seasider??...MadMark et al??

Event starts early, sleep Scrutineering / Documentation from 7.45am, and I reckon it will take about an 1 hour 15/1 hour 30 to get there from A130/A12 area.

Id like to suggest a couple of meeting points readit , firstly on the A130 (layby past SWF/Wickford junction towards A12) at 6.15 to depart at 6.30. The second being a Little Chef or something just past Chelmsford (Witham area and meeting point TBC) on the A12 at say 6.45 for a departure at 7am.

If you are up for this, then add your name below and where you would prefer to meet...cheers thumbup

Well, my attempt to sort a convoy from Sussex/Kent seems to have fallen flat on its arse. Are you doing a stop after the A130?

Im sure there will be a Clackett Lane meet, then where?

Plan would be to do a couple of stops, one on the A130, and a second on the A12, where id guess we'd meet your convoy of one then! winkhehe

Well I was going to go "over the top" but I guess I could swing by Clacketts if needs must. Gonna cost me a quid for Dartford going that way though hehe

Right I have been having a play with Google Maps, it reckons that from the Little Chef at Witham to the airbase at Wattisham is 33 miles and 47 mins, so is there any chance we can move back the departure from the the L/Chef until 0700, otherwise it is really going to be an impossibly early start for those coming from farther afield who would still like to hook up (er like me hehe) - Google maps are usually generous on times anyway and this will be early on a Sunday morning so should be quiet and I really think that would be ample (but I do concede I don't know the road/journey). Clackets to the L/Chef is about and hour and again I would guestimate we could beat this time given the hour of day so based on the above amended dep time, departure from Clackets at 6 sharp should see us there for 7. For those coming from further West still I would like to suggest one further RV/Start point that being the Runnymede Hotel at Egham near J13 of the M25, 0515 departure from here should see us comfortably at Clackets in about 40 mins, so time for a wee and grab a coffee before the 6 o'clock push off - To be at the Little Chef for 6.30 would conversely mean an 0445 push off for us from Runnymede (and when it starts with a 4 it is pretty horrid) - How does that all sound for people - if this link works then it will show route and timings.

I reckon to make Clackets for 0600 from down here in the Solent area I would have to be on the road no later than 0430 (with zero room for errors delays) so probably nearer 0400 is better yikes.
I really must see about local accomodation the night before hehe.
