Hi there,

Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction - I have a 348 spider but it does not have the cover for the roof that you use when its put down - I don't want to put down the roof without it as the manaul says it can damage it without the cover.

Anyone know where I might get one from?

Regards

Bob

I think the only damage you will cause is a "stripe" effect along the crease lines in the headlining if you have it down for a prolonged period of time.

I wouldn't miss out on any sunny evenings over it in the short term.

(Sorry, don't know where you can get the cover though. Have you tried www.clubscuderia.com?)

hi bob, congrats on car, these really do have a lot of wow factor, rarely if ever will you see another one on the road. i looked at a blue one which obviously looks very similar to yours...fancied something other than red....its got the grey leather right?. re the roof cover, i've got one you can have stuck in my airing cupboard, never used it as i think the car looks fine with her top down and i can never be bothered with it. you can have mine.....if you are prepared to donate the rubber seal around the left hand side of your soft top.....mines lhd and my arm keeps getting wet...when it rains..

Never had any problem or damage with running the roof down without cover. Sure it looks neater without the cover but that's about it.

Only damage will be if you leave the roof down for long periods as the canvas may (only may mind) shrink slightly with a risk of tearing when it is stretched again on going back up.

The manual says never use without cover - I thought maybe at high speed the wind might potentially cause damage - sod it i'm gonna use it anyway!

Cheers for the help guys, I'll keep looking around.

the only way it can get damaged is by creasing and fraying at folding points. quite common on 355 to see small holes at these places.the boot cover will just make hood look tidier when folded
