Gearbox/Clutch making odd sounds

I was driving my Mk6 Fiesta on a fairly twisty uphill road this evening, and everytime i changed from 2nd to 3rd gear just as i let the clutch up the car made a loud squeak, just like the sound of tyres chirping (but i don't think my little 75PS Fiesta can spin its wheels in 3rd gear.. )
Gearbox/ Clutch related? Anything I should worry about?

Just a hunch, check the condition and tension of the engine's accessory drive belt(s) and pulleys.
