Has anybody got any first hand experience with a ruf3400S.
I have a 1997 Boxster and would like to get it converted into a ruf3400S boxster.

Anybody got one ? How does it go?
Maintenance?

Ruf do know their stuff, but it would be far cheaper & easier to get a 3.6 996 lump transplanted in, shove on some decent suspension & Box S Brakes & gearbox.

You are right, I would also prefer the 3.6 but unfortunately they cannot fit that into a 1997 2.5 Boxster, they only fit it in a Boxster S. Well that is what they told me. But even so a 3.4 is a nice upgrade coming from a 2.5L. It is 100 extra horses.
Anybody got some driving experiences with one of these?

Hi, I can't understand the not able to transplant the 3.6 into a 2.5 idea as it should not be a problem.

I've driven a 3.4 engined Box but the owner diddnt change brakes/suspension/gearbox so it was not really a perfect package, particually in terms of the gear ratios- quite nippy tho! there are also a couple of GT3 engined Boxsters floating around and when 380bhp is easily achiveable on the GT3 engine for little £ that has got to be the way to go.

Halleluja, I am a believer. A GT3 engine, now that would of course be the thing to do.

Mind you, I can't see why it would not be possible to fit one in.,All those engines are +/- the same size and weight, of course one needs to use the appropriate gearbox and it would be extremely foolish, even dangerous not to upgrade the suspension and brakes.

Any idea who's got the GT3 engined boxster I would love to contact him/her

Thanks
Ronny
