Sorry if its a repost but just seen the new Performance Bike mag.

A standard Aprilia RSVR Factory (with slicks) went round 3secs quicker than a Gixer 1000.

It was a 'slow' one as well (made a few bhp less than a Tuono they dynoed before).

Not bad for £10k new list price

Trying to read it in WHS has obviously caused me to confuse the facts.

I'm out the country in 3 hours, so catch me while you can!

Seriously! I measured my 'chicken strips' the other day...two inches either side is good isn't it?

Bring it on 'sub litre' boys. biggrin

Nearer £12K for a new one, I believe.

Lovely bikes, though. I fancy another Aprilia.

ETA - I remember reading a few years ago in BIKE magazine that the RSV-R was the fastest bike around their handling circuit.

The GSXR was a 750 in black (that's why is was quite quickwink) it was using normal road tyres. The Baron, the guy who rode the bikes in the test and who knows the Nordschleife like the back of his hand said if the GSXR had a 20mm cartidge kit for the forks, Ohlins rear shock, full system & a remap it would be amazing.

The RSV won master bike 2006, what it gives away in power of the Jap litre bikes it makes up in corner speed and V-2 twin grunt.

They dynoed the bike in mag a found that it was a badun as well down on power.

It's the only bike I've ridden that I feel like I'm wearing it, and not sitting on it.

Mine used to spin up the rear in the dry quite happily. It also used to waggle the bars occassionly. But everything felt controlled and undramatic. The only thing it lacked was the ballistic performance of the 1000 IL4s.

I like the stability of Italian bikes but also the quick reactions of the Japs. With dropped forks, my RSV used to steer quicker than my R1. Much quicker than my old Ducati, which was quite ponderous in comparison. I've never ridden a 916/748 but I've been told they need to be muscled over (compared with a Jap bike).

Yep, B for errrr Baron has managed to get PB to sort a GSXR750 and that sort of kit for him. Dale has had his K7 thou in the Baron's garage for a while but they haven't measured times on it yet. That 7:32 is a BTG so add 20 secs or so and it is close to Helmut's time (isn't that still a fantastic time on a RC30 on cross-ply metzelers!?)

I'm expecting the K7 to do a new record time (ie full lap and timed) this year. Watch this space!
