Just like Dan says, you can buy the methanol in 5L, 25L or 205L quantities from most chemical suppliers, just check out yellow pages.
Most chemical suppliers are cagey about supplying to private individuals and it's easiest to buy it through your employer and tell the chemical supplier you're using it as a cleaning solvent or degreaser. When sold as a fuel or additive for an internal combustion engine they are obliged to charge duty accordingly.
jeff.bull2@virgin.net can supply the lubricant additive that decreases the abrasiveness of the methanol that leads to serious and accelerated scratching of the bores and degredation of the ring pack.
Just remember that Alcohol is hydroscopic just like brake fluid and unless it is stored correctly it will soon take up enough moisture from the atmosphere to make it unusable.
Depending on the amount of alcohol you're introducing to the fuel mix you may need to play around with ignition timing as alcohol burns slower than petrol and you may need to adjust plug gap and heat range.
With high percentages of alcohol it is wise to learn how to read the plugs after each thrash down the quarter mile as an aid to tuning decisions.

I have now got some methanol and are runing a miw of 40% meth and 60% water.
I have just had my car rolling roaded and a customer said that his car used to make another 30ish ft/lbs of torque when he used his aquamist system with the same mix as mine.
Can that happen ?
compared to what mix ? what car ? is it n/a or boosted ?I have just had my car rolling roaded and a customer said that his car used to make another 30ish ft/lbs of torque when he used his aquamist system with the same mix as mine.
Can that happen ?
Such gains are possible....of course some cars might gain nothing.

on your motor mate that sounds posable as lonmg as you have a little tunning to take advantage of the increased dept resistance. by the way have you decided if your getting the motor built or not?? have you had chance to take it out recently with all this cr*py weather??
thanks Chris.
These gains were after using meth water mix compare to not running any water injection at all.
I think the engine rebuild will be over the winter if I can pull together some cash.
Havent really drove her much cos of the westher but I took it for a rolling road session yesterday and she mangaged just over 300 bhp/ 290 is ft/lb at the wheels with one tyre slipping and smoking like hell.
So looking out for a LSD first

You could try acetone (Higher dHv) but it would knacker any plastic in there.
Before anyone slates me, acetone was an old race fuel additive.
Bet it smells really good to. I used to get a fix on 2 stroke oilBefore anyone slates me, acetone was an old race fuel additive.

Mart: check all the pipework and fittings the methanol passes through. It can chalk up and corrode fittings easily.
Also clear the nozzles with WD after use as injectors can get gunked up with solidified methanol.
