Licence plates

I've recently stuck on my new licence plates with those sticky foam pads on the rear of my car (bumper is made of plastic) - they arent on quite straight (doh!), anyone know a good way of politely forcing these off without ripping the whole bumper off - do they come off if pulled hard but gently? Any ideas much appreciated. Cheers.

The detailing chaps use fishing line to cut through the foam middle and then peel the rest of gently with some solvent...


...might be worth a go?

Thanks that's a good idea. I was thinking of a wire of some sort but didnt think of fishing line. Thanks.
