'Evil handling' is a bit harsh - the 312T4 was good enough to take Scheckter to the Championship with JV not so far behind.

Certainly true of the C126 that followed it, though.

Yes but the T4 was at the top of it's game, in 1980 along came aero and skirts and Ferrari was left lacking, in a bid to get even they applied all sorts of mods to the car which weren't succesful, shown by the fact that the T5 only led one lap all season. Areo and the flat engine configuration just didn't work, but Gilles being the man he was never gave up and would drive the can at 110%+, hence the lurid angles whenever it appeared.
