You've compressed them to 800x600 pixels, which normally is fine but PH* shrinks anything bigger than 750 pixels wide down to 750 to stop massively wide pictures being displayed. Unfortunately, the mechanism used to do this shrinking isn't very good as things can look a bit odd.
Shrinking the 800x600 version of your last pic (click on an image and it'll show the size it should be) down to 750 gives this -



Which I think/hope looks a bit better.

• It's not actually PH shrinking it, PH tells your net explorer to do it.
