Does anyone know of the best place to get a new ECU? mine has decided to give up on me, i have opened it up and found that the two earth pins have got hot and melted the solder attaching them to the circuit board, i tried resoldering them which did help me get the car started albeit on four cylinders only, which makes me think there is also other damage to the circuit board. i have looked online for replacements and not found much.

Any help would be appreciated.

All you need is a Range Rover ecu (preferably same part no as yours) with a socket for the EPROM fuel map chip. These are normally anything up to £60 on ebay. I say preferably the same part no as yours but you might get away with another one for a 3.9 or 4.2 litre engine from the same year onwards. They're not all the same hardware however, and until you open it up and compare every component you won't know for sure.
