Is it normal to have wear on the drives seat where people have climbed in and out?
The kind of wear that I have seen is where the coloured leather is worn through over a 2 inch section. The seats in the car that I was looking at had soem little flaps fitted to cover the wear marks.

Is this normal?

2005 car with ony 6K on the clock.

Very commmon, can be repaired easily. Approx £100 by memory, Alcantara is harder wearing but not many 3Rs have it.

this is very normal , all the cars I looked at when buying mine had this. The one I went for was recoloured by the dealer , but within a couple of months it wears off.
as sjc said , Auto interiors can replace that section for about £100 but I suspect within a few months it will go the same way again.. . i'd get some leather dye, and recolour it regularly...

Yes, normal, mine did it when quite new. I find its mostly your belt that does it. As suggested earlier Alcantara is better and would be my next choice.

FYI, Auto Interiors (Martyn) next to the factory do a custom protective piece to match your seat colour.

Actually Alcantara was the original chosen seat covering. Better grip and cooler.

26K mile GTO3 and my alcantara is starting to wear a little bit, but not enough to bother me. Definitely better than the leather in that respect.
